West FSI has advised a wide range of private, institutional funds and quasi-public entities investing in or managing parking and related industry related assets. Examples include:
- Parking Operating Companies: Acquiring parking operating companies including identify acquisition candidates or JV investments, due diligence and creating the strategic
plan to execute the investment thesis. This role has ranged from a private equity firm investing in a firm Rick West co-founded in 1996 and successfully sold in 2003 ($2.40 returned for every
$1 invested), evaluating the acquisition of companies identified by the investor group and stepping into a senior executive role at an acquired firm for several years as part of executing the
business plan.
- P3's Projects Including Public-to-Public and Public-to-Private: The evaluation and due diligence of publically bid parking P3's for airports, higher education and municipal
parking systems. This role has also included participating on the asset management team for the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Authority acquisition of a parking concession from
the City of Harrisburg and, since 2015, a senior advisor to the Millennium Parking Garage Concession ("MPG") in Chicago consisting of over 9,000 parking spaces covering 3.8 million sq. ft.
Additionally, the original OSU parking privatisation and secondary market sale. As of 2018, Rick West, the founder and principal of West FSI, serves as the current CEO of the MPG concession.
- Asset Restructuring: Retained by insurance company and investment fund or to identify restructuring alternatives for underperforming parking real estate or
investments.
- Parking Real Estate: Evaluating co-investments in parking real estate projects including new development.
